Football tourney from Jan. 16
The football tournament under the second edition of Khasdar Krida Mahotsav will be organised from January 16 to 22 at SE Railway’s Motibagh ground.
The tournament will be played in knockout format and 12 teams from NDFA’s Elite and Super division are participating in the tournament. The teams that will vie for the tup honours in Rs 2.64 lakh prize money tournament include SE Railway, Central Railway, Rabbani Club Kamptee, Young Muslim Football Club, Nagpur Academy, Qidwai Club, Rahul Sankrutyayan Club, GRC Kamptee, Big Ben, Nagpur Blues, Eleven Star, Nagpur City Police and Ansar sporting. Daily two matches will be played. The winner will get Rs 1 lakh whereas the runners-up will be richer by Rs 75,000. The hardline final will be given Rs 51,000. Apart from it there will be attractive individual prizes.
This year women’s matches will be played. Around eight teams are expected to participate and six have already confirmed their participation. The winner will get Rs, 21,000 and runners-up will ge given Rs 15,000. The third place team will be richer by Rs 11,000.
West Zone bodybuilding on Jan. 12
The West Zone Bodybuilding Championship will be organised at Yeshwant Stadium immediately after the inauguration of Khasdar Krida Mabhotsav at 7 p.m. The bodybuilders from Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Vidarbha are participating in the tournament.
The Rs 6.50 lakh total prize event will be organised in eight weight categories. The first five prizes in each category will be Rs 25,000 (1st), Rs 15,000 (2nd), Rs 10,000 (3rd), Rs 7,000 (4th) and Rs 5,000 (5th). The Champion of Champion will get Rs 51,000 and runners-up will be richer by Rs 30,000.
Vidarbha-level carrom from Jan. 15
The Vidabha-level Carrom Tournament will be organised from January 15 to 18 at NIT Hall, Buddha Nagar and around 500 players are expected to participate in the tournament.
This year senior women and veterans categories have been included. The cash prizes in senior men’s section are Rs 11,000 (1st) Rs 7,000 (2nd) and Rs 5,000 (3rd), Rs 1,000 each to (4th 5o 8th). In senior women section winner will get Rs 2,000, runners-up Rs 1,500 and second runners up Rs 1,000, Rs 700 each to (4th to 8th). In veteran’s category first three prizes will be Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000, Rs 1,000 respectively and Rs 1,000 each (4 th to 8th).
