Ashish Vaidya, Research Scholar in the department of Metallurgical & Materials
Engineering, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur has recently
won two awards at the Second International Conference of Structural Integrity (ICONS 2018).
He won Best Paper Award as well as Springer’s Best Poster Award (Honorable
Mention) for his work on “Creep Studies of High Strength Steels in Critically Stressed
Regime at Elevated Temperature for Nuclear Power Plant Applications.†Ashish Vaidya is
pursuing his Ph.D. under the guidance of Prof. Dilip Peshwe and Prof. Atul Ballal.
The Second International Conference of Structural Integrity (ICONS2018) was jointly
organized by IISc Bengaluru, IIT Madras, Indian Structural Integrity Society (InSIS), Society
for Failure Analysis (SFA) and Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR)
Kalpakkam during 14 th – 17 th December 2018 at IC&SR Auditorium, IIT Madras. In all, 160
research works were presented in the conference where Ashish Vaidya won Best Paper
Award and Springer’s Best Poster Award for his contribution in the domain of Structural
Integrity.
