Nagpur, Dec 27: There are many government schools in Vidarbha that reeling under acute shortage of teaching staff and only 1-2 teachers are teaching students in a few schools at remote areas. At the same time there are schools where number of teachers is in excess. The State education department survey has identified teachers in surplus in many schools.
The government has decided to adjust these excess teachers in the vacancies available in the various schools. The process of adjusting these teachers has been started in Nagpur leading to huge resentment among teachers. On Wednesday, teachers created ruckus in the Saraswati School, Shankar Nagar to protest against the transfer process. It is learnt that the process was stopped for some time due to protest.
It is worth to mention here that adjustment process was first done at the tehsil level and then at the district level. Procedure was conducted at the divisional level for the teachers who did not get the appointments even after these two process. The teachers were called from all the districts in Nagpur division for the process.
