The athletics meet in Khasdar Krida Mahotsav will be organised from January 20 to 22 at RTM Nagpur University track. During the meet as many as 110 events will be orgnaised in Under-12, Under-14, Under-16 and Under-18 and open categories for boys and the girls. This year three events including 5000 m walking for men, 3000 m for women, pole vault for men, and 400 m hurdles for men, women and Under-18 category have been introduced . The winner in each section will get Rs 1,000 and gold medal, runners-up Rs 700 and silver medal and second runners-up Rs 500 and bronze medal. Overall championship, runners-up and third place holder will be honoured in each group. The best runner, best thrower and best jumper and best male and female athletes will be given attractive trophies.
As 95 technical officials will conduct the event that will be organised from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The entry fees per athlete will be Rs 50 and interested have been asked to confirm their entries through email entryndaanag@gmail.com. Dr Suryavanshi will be the technical manager and he will be assisted by corporator Nishant Gandhi, Ramchandra Wani, Prof. Bunty Prasad Yadav and Sunil Kapgate.
Volleyball from Jan 17
The district-level volleyball tournament for senior men, women and Under-17 boys and girls will be organised at Samarth Vyayam Shala, Pratap Nagar from January 17 to 19. In all 28 men, 12 women, 28 Under-17 boys and 18 Under-17 girls teams teams are expected to participate. The matches will be played in morning as well as evening sessions. Total prize money for the tournament is Rs 1,84,000.
The first three prizes in men and women sections are Rs 21,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 11,000. In Under-17 section it will be Rs 15,000, Rs 11,000 and 7,000. Apart from it Rs 200 each will be given to best player, best smasher and best lifter in each section. The last date of entry is January 15.
Chess from January 18
The chess tournament under the second edition of Khasdar Krida Mahotsav will be conduced in the open category from January 18 to 20 at Vivekanand Nagar Indoor sports complex.
Total cash prizes for the event is Rs 46,000. The winner will be richer by Rs 31,000 whereas runners-up will take away Rs 11,000. the third prize will be Rs 7,000, fourth Rs 3,000, fifth Rs 2,000, sixth Rs 1,000 and 7th to 10th Rs 500 each.
Trophies and cash prizes will be given to the winners and runners-up-up in Under-7, Under-9, Under-11, Under-13 and Under-15 boys and girls categories. Sunil Manekar will be the convener and he will be assisted by Gajanan Nishitkar and Umesh Panbude.
