Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the 5th Youth Empowerment Summit organised jointly by Fortune Foundation, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and the collector office in the city on Friday morning.
Minister for finance, planning and forests Sudhir Mungantiwar, guardian minister of Nagpur district Chandrashekhar Bawankule and other MLAs, MLCs were prominently present at the inaugural function.
Speaking on the occasion Fadnavis said, “We need to connect employment opportunities and skilled youths and these kind of platforms play a significant role in achieving this objective.†We are creating a huge infrastructure to generate maximum employment, in addition to providing electricity at lower rates in Vidarbha and Marathwada to attract industries, said Fadnavis.
We also need to understand the new opportunities in changed economy, he said, adding the new data released by EPFO shows 26 per cent of employment generated alone in Maharashtra, of the total number in India. Maharashtra is leading in employment generation too, he remarked.
As many as 106 companies have registered for this event, which include 40 from Nagpur. Similarly, 21,000 youths registered online for the summit.
Fadnavis and Gadkari felicitated some of the successful students on the occasion. The duo also distributed ‘Mudra Loan’ certificates to youths, loans to self-help groups and training completion certificates.
