The office of commissioner of police of the city Dr. B K Upadhyay, has been shifted to Patel Bungalow, Chhaoni, owing to renovation of the existing building, which will be replaced by a new and modern office.
Joint commissioner of police Ravindra Kadam, DCP police headquarters and the staff of CP office will discharge their duties from the new place for the next two years – the period to be taken by the new building to come up. The bhoomipujan of the work was performed eight months ago.
Earlier, it was decided to shift the CP office in the campus of National Fire Service College (NFSC). However, shifting required a huge expenditure towards repair and maintenance besides, permission of every work to be carried out as it houses the building of archeology department. Hence, it was decided to look for some new premises and accordingly it has now been shifted to Patel Bungalow.
The work to shift furniture, computers and other goods was completed on Saturday and Sunday. Moreover, Dr. Upadhyay, since last few days, was busy in preparations to work from the new place. Â The CP office would start functioning at the new venue from Monday morning, it is learnt.
