Pranav Lanjewar of Nagpur bagged the ‘Champion of Champions’ title in the Mayor’s Cup Bodybuilding Championship that was organised jointly by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation and Amateur Bodybuilders Association, on Sunday evening. Sarvesh Shahu of Amravati clinched the title of ‘Best Poser’ and got richer by Rs 31,000. ‘Champion of Champions’ Lanjewar overcame the stiff competition from over dozen top bodybuilders from across Vidarbha to clinch the coveted crown.
Earlier, the one-day meet was inaugurated by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. MLAs Sudhakar Kohale, Krushna Khopde, Vikas Kumbhare and Girish Vyas were the guests of honour. Deputy mayor Deepraj Pardikar, standing committee chairman Virendra Kukreja, tournament convenor Narendra Balya Borkar, NMC sports committee chairman Nagesh Sahare, Praveen Datke and others were present on the occasion. Amateur Bodybuilders Association president Rajesh Tomar, Vice-president Rajesh Giripunde, general secretary Chetan Pathare and Secretary Arun Deshpande were the co-coordinators of the meet.
