Host S K Porwal College blanked Jhulelal Institute of Technology 8-0 on the first day of Late Nemkumar Porwal memorial Inter-Collegiate Knock-out Foot-ball Tournament on Monday.
For Porwal, Keshav Sangewar scored two goals in 35th and 48th minute. Mustajabh (6th min), Umair Ansare (15th min), Akhil Bharatia (23rd min), Shahbaz Khan (27th min) and Mohammad Saad (50th min) were other scorers.
In another match, Anjuman Engineering defeated Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management via sudden death. The score was nil during the regulation time. In tie-breaker too, the deadlock continued as both the teams scored two goals each. In sudden death, Mohammad Sadique netted winning goal.
In the third match, Hislop College knocked out Priydarshini Engineering 1-0. Thanks to Jasbir Singh who netted an all-important goal in the 24th minute. Dr  M  N Ghoshal was the chief guest of the opening ceremony. Bengaluru FC player Asheer Akhtar was the special guest.  SPM secretary Vijaykumar Sharma, former principal Dr S S Dhondge, principal Dr M B Bagade, vice-principal Dr A H Ansari, Dr Renu Tiwari, acting director of department of sports and physical education of RTM Nagpur University Atmaram Pande, Dr Prashant Bambal, organising secretary Dr Indrajit Basu, Mallika Nagpure and others were present on the occasion.
