The South Eastern Central Railway (SECR) earned revenue of Rs 1.11 crore through ticket checking and Rs 21.25 crore from the sale of tickets in the month of December 2018.
According to information given by senior divisional commercial manager of SECR, there was a growth of 4.78 percent in sale of tickets and 4.99 percent in its income. Similarly, the SECR earned an income of Rs 69 lakh through parcel, Rs 29 crore from goods transport, Rs 1.18 lakh through catering service and Rs 6.81 lakh through parking. The entire income is high as compared to the corresponding period last year. The SECR under a special drive run during the month of December registered a total of 40,750 offences of people travelling without ticket or carrying goods without proper booking and recovered a fine of Rs 1.11 crore.
The drive was run by the ticket checking squad along with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) under the guidance of senior divisional commercial manager Ashutosh Shrivastava and divisional railway manager, SECR Shobhna Banopadhyay.
