The district-level swimming competition will be organised as a part of Khasdar Krida Mahotsav on January 19 and 20 at Kamgar Kalyan swimming pool.
Addressing media persons, Dr. Sambhaji Bhonsale said total prize money for the event will be Rs 1,05,600. The first three winners in each category will get Rs 1,000, Rs 700 and Rs 500.
Apart from cash prizes, the medal will be awarded to the top three swimmers from each group in Under-10, Under-12, Under-14, Under-17, Under-25 and above 30 categories. The entry fee will be Rs 200 per participant and the same will be accepted at Mohota Science College, Sakkardara. Dr. Bhonsale said around 300 swimmers are expected to participate in the event. National swimmers Rutuja Talegaonkar, Himal Fadke, Yash Gulhane, and Parth Manapure have already confirmed their participation for the event, informed Bhonsale.
