The Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) will embark upon the fifth phase of Congress Jan Sangarsh Yatra (rally) in Eastern Vidarbha from city on Thursday.
The rally will commence after paying homage to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at Deekshabhoomi, offering prayers at durgah of Sufi Saint Hazrat Baba Tajuddin Rehmat Ulla Alah and also praying at Ganesh Mandir, Tekdi.
It will proceed to Kamptee, Ramtek, Tumsar, and Tiroda where public meeting will be held on day one. On January 11, the rally will proceed to Gondia and Sakoli and on January 12, it will cover Bhandara, Chimur, and Chandrapur. The rally will conclude on January 13 after holding public meetings in Gadchiroli, Bramhapuri, and Nagpur in the evening.
MPCC president and former chief minister Ashok Chavan, former chief minister Prithiviraj Chavan, former PCC chief Manikrao Thakre, former agriculture minister Balasaheb Thorat and former textile minister Nasim Khan along with local Congress leaders will join the rally.
The MPCC is planning to invite all the three newly-elected chief ministers Ashok Gahalot from Rajasthan, Kamal Nath from Madhya Pradesh and Bhupesh Baghal from Chattisgarh for concluding function at a later date of January 20, sources said. The programme is being worked
