Divisional commissioner Dr. Sanjeev Kumar inaugurated the newly constructed counter of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojna (MJPJAY) and a new day-care chemotherapy ward at Rashtrasant Tukdoji Regional Cancer Hospital, in the city.
He inaugurated the new counter at the annual general meeting of the hospital attended by vice-president Sunil Kedar, secretary Basantlall Shaw, joint secretaries Ashok Kriplani and Randhir Javery, treasurer D Ramkrishna Chhangani director Awatram Chawla, joint director Dr. Subhrajit Dasgupta, Dr. B K Sharma and Dr. Prasanna Joshi.
Dr. Kumar, also the ex-officio president then inspected the ongoing construction of the new 200-bedded hospital. which is progressing at a fast pace. He complimented all the trustees and staff of RST RCH in making it as a final destination of poor cancer patients for comprehensive cancer care.
Mr. Shaw read out the achievements and progress of the hospital for the year 2017-18 followed by Dr Kumar’s speech. He appreciated the noble and good work being carried out by all the members and also by the doctors and other staff. He stressed the need to run awareness campaigns, especially targeting school children.
