Work at all the office Life Insurance Corporation of India was paralysed on the second day too during the strike. The strike call is given by 11 major workers union protesting against the alleged anti-labour policies of the Central government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Claiming that the strike was 100 percent successful, the Nagpur Division Workers Union said none of the work including monetary transactions could take place owing to the strike.
The LIC employees gathered at the main gate of the head office in the city at 10 am on Wednesday and shouted slogans in support of their demands.
Secretary of the organisation Anil Dhokpande, president Milind Kumar, senior workers’ leader Ramesh Patne, T K Chakraborty and other leaders addressing the meeting demanded hike in the salaries, pension benefit and immediate recruitment in LIC. A large number of LIC employees participated in the agitation.
Naresh Adchule, Rajesh Vishwakarma, Shiva Nimje, Abhay Patne, Hari Sharma, Vivek Joshi, Laxman Moundekar, Sanjay Lanjewar, Ashok Meshram, Shaila Deshpande and others worked for the success of the agitation.
