The school playground of Podar World School, Nagpur was filled with great zeal, excitement, and frolicsome atmosphere on 22nd December 2018 as the school celebrated its 8th Annual Sports Day. The mascot of the event was Eagle which symbolizes “Eagle as a symbol of beauty, bravery, courage, honor, pride, determination and grace.â€Almost 700 students from the school participated in the Sports day events. All students especially the participants were really excited about the event.
The Chief Guest Mr. Vijay Barse was welcomed with floral bouquets and Shawl. The Chief Guest Mr. Vijay Barse in his keynote address emphasized that Annual sports day was a red letter day in each child life and how important sports are in a child’s life.
This was entailed by the unfurling of school flag and the declaration of the meet open by the Chief Guest making the commencement of the ceremony, followed by a lightening of the sports torch, flag hoisting, and balloons to make the expression of joy and rejoicement. A spectacular, impressive and a well-synchronized march past by all the four houses Satya, Ahimsa, Seva, Aadarsh rendered the spectators and speechless followed by Oath taking ceremony. The most intriguing aspect, embellishing the event, was the splendid field displays filled in the hearts of everyone with the spirit of sportsmanship and unity. The students displayed a wide array of colorful and reverberant events. They mesmerized the audience with their energetic performances. The clapper drill, Gymnastic display, Karate display, Aerobics drill, drum performance, Yoga performance etc, and the other cultural items remained as the main attraction of the mega event
This was followed by the track events, 100 & 200-meter races, Relay race for both boys and girls. All the students cheered for the respective houses which eventually belonged to all four Houses. Podar World School, Nagpur thanked everyone who contributed their services either directly or indirectly for the grand success of the mega event.
Sports day concluded with National Anthem. The whole event was conducted under the guidance of Principal Mr. Yogendra Katare The chairman of the school Mr. Raghav Podar, the Principal Mr. Yogendra Katare, congratulated all the students for their outstanding performance.
