The new team of Nagpur chapter of Indian Dietetic Association was installed at a function held at Mimosa Hall, Chitnavis Centre, Civil Lines in the city on Thursday.
Dr P Sivaswaroop, Regional Director, IGNOU, Nagpur, noted dieticians Prof A N Radha and Dr Sabiha Vali were the chief guests on the occasion.
Ms. Kavita Bakshi was installed as the Convenor, Ms Minal Gujarathi, as Co-Convenor, Ms Kavita Gupta, Secretary, Ms Chanchal Sahni, Joint Secretary and Dr Renuka Mainde, Treasurer. Ms Vinita Mehta, Ms Sakina Raghib, Ms Suvarna Nitnaware, Ms Prachi Sawaikar and Ms Jaya Adwani were installed as the Executive Committee members.
Similarly, senior dieticians Prof A N Radha, Dr Sabiha Vali, Dr Deepali Kotwal, Dr Rekha Sharma, Sushma Chatterji and Nilima Joshi were installed as the Advisory Committee members.
In her acceptance speech, Ms Bakshi said she would ensure that every dietician in Nagpur is registered with IDA, adding that she would run massive awareness programmes and organise events to achieve the goal. She also promised every possible co-operation to the young dieticians.
Expressing gratitude towards the senior members and the outgoing team, she said, she along with her new team would work like five fingers of the hand for the betterment of the society.
Dr Rita Bhargava, the outgoing convenor delivered the welcome address while Meenal Gujarathi, the outgoing treasurer read out the annual report briefing in detail about the activities and programmes conducted by the earlier team. A small video on the outgoing team’s works was played on the occasion.
Earlier, the guests lighted the traditional lamp and then released the third newsletter of IDA Nagpur Chapter Nutrient Voice.
The other guests also spoke on the occasion. Dr Renuka Mainde and Ms Vinita conducted the programme.
The installation programme was followed by colourful cultural programme.
A large number of practicing dieticians, nutritionists and students were present at the programme.
