Eighth seed Yuvraj Singh shocked fourth seed Jagmeet Singh to enter the semifinals in the ongoing Godwana Club-Dinshaw’s AITA Men’s Ranking Tennis Tournament at the Gondwana Club courts on Wednesday.
Haryana’s Yuvraj defeated Jagmeet 6-4, 6-1 in the men’s singles quarterfinals. In other matches, top seed SD Prajwal Dev of Karnataka living up to his reputation ousted seventh seed Yash Yadav of MP in straight games. Third seed Fahad Mohammad of Tamil Nadu also registered a comfortable win against Karnataka’s Rishi Reddy.
However, fifth seed Arman Bhatia of Maharashtra had to stretch fully to get the better of unseeded Aniket Chopra of Punjab. Bhatia rallied back to down Chopra 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 to seal the last-four berth.
