A dreaded criminal was bludgeoned over old enmity under the jurisdiction of Pachpaoli police station. The incident occurred late Friday night and police have arrested three persons in connection with the murder.
The murdered goon has been identified as Gaurav alias Pandya Pillewan (30), a resident of Circle Number 15/21, Lashkaribaug, who is known to be a history sheeter. The names of the arrested were given as Yogiraj Dhanvijay (35), a resident of Rani Durgawati Square, Vishal Vishwakarma (38), a resident of Nava Nakasha and Golu Ankush Mandale (21), a resident of Lashkaribaug.
According to police, the three accused along with some of their friends had a quarrel over ferrying passengers in an auto rickshaw over a fortnight ago. The trio along with some friends then hatched a conspiracy and reached Shanichara Bazar, behind the old Carrom Club where they spotted Gaurav. The accused then smashed Gaurav’s head with stones leaving him dead on the spot.
Manish Baburao Pillewan (33), a resident of Plot No 502, Haridas Nagar, Lashkaribaug lodged a complaint with Pachpaoli police station in this regard. The police then registered an offence under section 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The police team led by police sub-inspector (PSI) P P Avchar arrested the three accused and are investigating the matter further.
