A two-day national convention of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Scheduled Caste (SC) wing will be held in the city on January 19 and 20th. Around 6000 representatives will attend the convention while one lakh people will be present at a public rally to be held on January 20. The convention will be held in the presence of BJP national president Amit Shah, which will spread the message across the country, said national spokesperson of BJP Dr. Vijay Sonkar Shastri. He was addressing a press conference. MLA Bhai Girkar, president, BJP SC Morcha; Subhash Pardhi, State chief spokesman Madhav Bhandari and Keshav Upadhye were also present at the press conference.
In addition to Shah, Union minister Nitin Gadkari, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, State president Raosaheb Danve, Union minister for social justice Thawarchand Gehlot, Union Minister of State for social justice Vijay Sampla and Union Minister of State for water resources Arjun Meghwal will address the convention, informed Dr. Shastri.
Information regarding various developmental works and social welfare schemes run by the Modi government will be given at the convention. With a view to pay respect to Bharatratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the government is developing five important places as pilgrimage centre that played important role in Dr. Ambedkar’s life, Dr. Shastri said, adding these five places include his birth place, a bungalow in Delhi where he breathed his last, Chaityabhoomi, Deekshabhoomi and a bungalow in London, where Dr Ambedkar stayed during his student life. A detailed information regarding this will be given at the convention.
