The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has decided to hike the fares of the Red bus, which it runs through a private operator. At present, people have to pay Rs 8 for per two kilometers.
The NMC administration in a press release stated that the decision has been taken due to hike in the rates of diesel, spare parts and salaries of the employees. The new rates of Rs 10 per kilometer would come into effect from the midnight of January 21.
The new rates are as follows:
Sitabuldi to Hingna Rs 33, Sitabuldi to Khaparkheda Rs 43, Sitabuldi to Koradi Rs 24, Sitabuldi to Godhani Rs 20, Sitabuldi to Butibori Rs 38, Sitabuldi to Besa Rs 20, Sitabuldi to Gorewada Rs 14, Sitabuldi to J N Clinic via Kanhan Rs 43, Sitabuldi to Kamptee Rs 33, Sitabuldi to Pardi via Gandhibaug Rs 16, Sitabuldi to Bahadura Fata Rs 29, Sitabuldi to Pipla Fata Rs 24, Sitabuldi to Nara 14, Sitabuldi to Nari Rs 16, Sitabuldi to Gidoba Mandir Rs 24 and Sitabuldi to Sonegaon via Deo Nagar Rs 14.
The NMC has appealed to the people to take note of the new fares.
