Rotary Club of Nagpur Downtown will be hosting Justice PP Deo Memorial Rotary Cricket tournament at the Ambedkar College ground from January 21.
In all, 14 men’s and 6 women’s teams from different Rotary clubs of Nagpur, Vidarbha and Central India will participate in this fund raising fellowship tourney.
The annual meet will be inaugurated on Monday at 5.30 pm by Income Tax Commissioner (Audit) Nagpur Milind Bhusari. Aasawari Kulkarni, Joint Managing Trustee of the Sumatibai Pandurangdeo Memorial Charitable Trust, will be the chief guest. Rotary District 3030 Governer Rajiv Sharma and Trustee of Donor Trust Bageshree Pande will be the special guests on the occasion.
There will be three day-night matches played everyday. The semifinals will be held on January 26, while finals will be played on January 27.
Fund raised from this cricket tournament will be used for 100 per cent social service projects of Rotary Club of Nagpur Downtown.
Rotary Club of Nagpur Downtown project team members Vijay Thakre, Sandeep Deshpande, Mohit Karnik, Abhijit Deshpande, Anuj Desai, Hitendra Narsingkar and Sameer Sahastrabudhe are working hard for the success of the event under the guidance club President Minal Dehadrai, Secretary Vikas Ingle, Advisors and past presidents Vivek Pathak and Hemant Dasturey.
