General Manager of South Eastern Central Railways (SECR), Sunil Singh Soin paid a visit at Chanda Fort and Gondia stations under the Nagpur division, to review passenger facilities, various developmental works, welfare schemes being run for the employees and other works.
Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Shobhana Bandopadhyay along with all the senior officials of Bilaspur headquarters was present on the occasion.
Mr Soin, who began his tour with visiting Chanda Fort station first, reviewed the cleanliness, inspected food stalls, station manager office, parking stand booking office among others. He also reviewed works being undertaken by different units and held discussions about facilities and developmental works with people’s representatives.
The engineering department displayed various machines before Mr Soin which included ultrasonic flaw detection machine, toe load measurement, chamfering machine and tree trimming machine along with other equipment and tool used regularly.
At Nagbhir, Mr Soin inspected the station area, crew lobby, running room, and platform. He reviewed the passenger facilities, Nagbhir Railway Colony and RPF Post. He also inaugurated a children’s park and planted a sapling. He then held discussions with Gadchiroli-Chimur MP Ashok Nete on various issues including developmental works and facilities.
Mr Soin then inspected bridge number 159 on Brahampuri-Wadsa section, and visited an exhibition where automatic water gauge level, tank-took machine and welding equipment were displayed. During the visit to Wadsa railway station, Mr Soin inspected the station area, booking office and platform. He inaugurated the railway housing project.
During his tour, the SECR General Manager instructed the officials concerned to expedite the ongoing works. Representatives of various organizations submitted memorandum of demands to Mr Soin during his visit to different stations.
