VIA Lady Entrepreneurs Wing (LEW) organised a talk by Shivani Dani Wakhare on ‘Cash is not Profit. Be own architect of your Balance Sheet’ under the leadership of Reeta Lanjewar, Chairperson, VIA LEW. Wakhare is a renowned budget analyst and also President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Nagpur.
Past president; VIA LEW; Vandana Sharma spoke on ‘awareness on social media and online shopping’. She informed about the precautions to be taken while shopping online. She stressed on reading reviews and get seller’s information before buying any product.
Wakhare, described the balance sheets as a tool to analyse the business. She said managing balance sheets is more like an art than science.
She explained the complicated terms like EBIT DA, RoNW, GDP, etc in very simple way. She said debt to net worth ratio is always very important.
She said if somebody takes business loan, one must ensure that the loan should be utilised in a way that it generates revenue.
She also insisted on studying government policies related to business. “We must pay attention to where do we utilise the profit, channelise cash, how do we do asset allocation etc.†She said learning the language of money is very important. For that we must read newspaper related to economics daily.
She insisted on understanding the business balance sheet and not just be dependent on a chartered accountant for that.
At the outset, Lanjewar delivered the introductory remarks. Sarla Kamdar, founder chairperson; VIA LEW welcomed Wakhare. Vandana Sharma was given floral welcome by Chitra Parate.
