Devraj Mandade, Bhoomi Samant, Anmol Nagpure and Sara Gajbhiye won the titles in their respective categories in the tennis tournament that was organsied during the Khasdar Krida Mahotsav at Ram Nagar court.
In the Under-10 boys final Devraj displayed a higher game than Akshat in the first set. In the second set, Akshat came back strong but still Devraj held his nerves and won the match with the score reading 4-0, 5-3.In the girls final, Bhoomi Samant had better court coverage and a strong backhand which was enough to beat her opponent Maahum Owais in straight sets 4-2, 4-1.
In the Boys U14, the match was between best friends Achintya Verma and Anmol Nagpure. Both boys have been playing at the top of their game this season and were equally matched in rallies, forehand and backhand but on the day Anmol proved to be better and won the match 6-1, 6-3. In the under-14 girls’ final, both Sara and Shrawani were hard hitters and had met each other many times before. However it was once again Sara’s day as she beat Shrawani in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.
In the men’s singles finals ,Advait Agarwal, who trains at CP Club blew away his opponent Sachin Patil in straight sets (6-3, 6-1) displaying powerful strokes and majestic shots from the deep that were accurate and at high speed.
