Prime Minister Narendra Modi has nurtured a dream that everybody shall own a house by the year 2022. His dream will come true through the housing expo organised jointly by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and CREDAI, said Mayor Nanda Jichkar on Friday.
She was delivering the inaugural address at the housing expo being held at the Chhatrapati Maharaj New Administrative building of NMC. Chairman; Standing Committee; Virendra Kukreja, Leader of Ruling Party in NMC; Sandeep Joshi, corporators Abhay Gotekar, Sunil Agrawal, Nishant Gandhi, Lakhan Yerawar, Additional Commissioners Ravindra Thakre, Aziz Sheikh and Ram Joshi, Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Mohite, Executive Engineer Girish Wasnik, Executive Engineer (Slum) Rajesh Rahate, CREDAI Chairman Anil Nair and Secretary Gaurav Agarwala were seated on the dais.
Speaking further Jichkar said the expo will benefit a large number of citizens. Name of each visitor at the exhibition will be registered, she said.
Kukreja said the government has undertaken a major task of providing affordable housing to the poor with help of a private institution.
Thakre and Nair also spoke on the occasion. Aziz Sheikh delivered the introductory speech. Earlier, Mayor Jichkar cut the ribbon and lighted the traditional lamp to inaugurate the expo. Additional Comissioner; Dharampety Zone; Mahesh Morone conducted the programme while Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Mohite proposed a vote of thanks.
As many as 20 renowned builders of the city and financial institutions are participating in the expo to be run till January 27.
Assistant Commissioner; Milind Meshram, Health Officer; Dr Sunil Kamble, Dr Pradip Dasarwar, Chief Fire Officer; Rajendra Uchke, Public Relations Officer; Ashok Kolhatkar, Executive Engineer (Electricity), Sanjeev Jaisway and Sunil Raut were prominently present on the occasion. A large number of citizens visited the exhibition on the first day.
