Some of the residents of Sadar have raised their voice against the construction of proposed ramp of the double-decker flyover near Saint Francis De-Sales Church and SFS School on Kamptee Road.
The flyover is being constructed by Metro Rail and the double-decker is aimed at easing the vehicular traffic on the busy stretch.
A number of Sadar residents were served notices for land measuring by the office of Land Records office for widening the road. These people said that as per earlier plan, the flyover was to end at LIC Square. But now, the Metro Rail has changed and according to the new plan, the flyover will end near the school and Church, the residents said. They added that over a thousand people visit the church daily, who will have to face hardships due to the flyover’s end near church.
They have further stated they were not opposed to the flyover but were concerned with the changed plan as it would create problems not only for the church visitors but also for the commuters. They have urged the authorities to reconsider the plan at the earliest.
