Matrushakti and Amrutdhara have jointly organised a bhajan competition in the city from February 1 to 3rd in six different divisions. The competition is the brainchild of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Each participating mandal will have to present two songs in the competition of which one should be a bhajan of Lord Ram or Hanuman and the other song either gondhal, jogva or yelkot.
Five teams will be selected from each zone for the finals. Thus, total 30 bhajan mandals from six divisions will perform in the finals. The winners will be awarded cash prizes of Rs 11,001, Rs 7,001, Rs 5,001, Rs 3,001 and Rs 2,001.
The primary rounds of West Nagpur and South-West Nagpur will be held at Ranjan Sabhagriha, Matru Seva Sangh, Sitabuldi at 11 am on February 1. Similarly, the primary rounds of Central and North Nagpur will be held at the Shikshak Sahakari Bank hall, Mahal, at 10 am on February 2. South Nagpur’s primary round will be held at Shree Gajanan Maharaj Mandir, Reshimbaug at 9.30 am on February 3 and the same for East Nagpur will be held at Hanuman Mandir, Gurudev Nagar, Nandanvan at 11 am on February 3.
Union Minister for Road and Surface Transport Nitin Gadkari will award the prizes to the winners.
