The administration has geared up for the Hackathon competition. Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has organised Mayor’s Innovation Award Competition –  Hackathon – at Suresh Bhatt Auditorium in the city on Friday, February 1. Till date, 500 groups and 1500 people have registered for the competition.
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate the event, while Guardian Minister, Chandrashekhar Bawankule will be the chief guest. The event will be presided over by Mayor Nanda Jhickar. Vice-Chancellor, RTMNU, S P Kane and Commissioner of Police, Dr Bhushankumar Upadhyay, will be the guests of honour. Along with teams from Pune, Amravati, Dhamangaon and other places, around 62 colleges will be participating in the event. The participants will feature new and advanced ideas as solution to various problems of the city.
When asked about the competition, Convenor of Mayor Innovation Council, Dr. Prashant Kadu said, “We have divided the participants into four categories. They will discuss their ideas in these groups and will come out with a presentation before the jury panels. The students will also get ideas from the expert in the programmeâ€.
For the entertainment part, a musical rock band will also perform at the event, as well as a drawing competition, on the topic ‘My Ideal Nagpur’ has also been organised from 9 am to 10 am.
