West Zone Inter University Cricket Tournament
In the ongoing West Zone Inter University Cricket Tournament for Women, S P Pune University, LNIPE Gwalior, SGBA University, Amravati and University of Mumbai qualified for the league matches. Now all the four teams will play with each other to win the title the tourney.
In the Zone A match, played at Radhikatai Pandav Engineering College ground, Savitribai Phule Pune University defeated Devi Ahilya University Indore by 5 wickets. Pune won the toss and elected to field. Indore University scored 100 runs losing all its wickets in 33.2 overs. For Indore University, Monika Pal top scored with 18 runs while for Pune University Pranali Mandlik took 3 wickets giving 9 runs.
In reply, Pune University chased the target losing 5 wickets in 23 overs. Mansi Tiwari was the top scorer (23) for Pune while Nikita Yadav took two wickets for Indore University.
In the Zone B match, played at Ramdeobaba College of Engineering ground, LNIPE Gwalior defeated Dr B A Marathwada University Aurangabad by 139 runs. Aurangabad won the toss and elected to field first. LNIPE Gwalior scored 235 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 40 overs. Bharti C top scored for LNIPE Gwalior by hitting 87 runs while for Aurangabad, Mayuri and Priyanka took two wickets each.
In reply, Aurangabad could manage to score onlt 96 runs losing all its wickets in 28.1 overs. Mayuri Patil was the top scorer (19) while Bharati and Pushpa took 3 wickets each.
In the Zone C match, SGB Amravati University got walkover as their opponents ITM University, Gwalior failed to report on the ground.
In the zone D match, played at Taywade College Koradi ground, University of Mumbai defeated Goa University by 7 wickets. Goa University won the toss and elected to bat making 98 runs losing all their wickets in 34 overs. Vanita was the top scorer with 32 runs while Kavita Singh and Darshanan Pawar took 3 wickets each. In reply, University of Mumbai achieved the target losing 3 wickets in 22.2 overs. Darshanan Pawar was top scorer with 33 while Bindia and Shreya claimed one wicket each.
