Spin attack of Vidarbha collapsed the Sourashtra team. Aditya Sarwate and Akshay Wakhare uprooted half of the Saurashtra’s batting line up including Cheteshwar Pujara, that gave an upper edge to the Vidarbha team on the second day of the Ranji Trophy final at VCA Jamtha Stadium on Monday.
Sarwate sent Pujara to pavilion which helped the hosts recover from a poor start bring back to the commanding position.
Earlier, starting with the previous day’s score of 200/7, Vidarbha reached to a respectable total of 312 in their first innings.  In reply, the Sourashtra batsmen collapsed like a pack of cards and at the stumps on the second day the visitors were at 158/5.
For Vidarbha, Sarwate and Wakhare were the star bowlers with 3/55 and 2/42 respectively. Saurashtra were still 154 runs behind with Snell Patel the only batsman showing some resistance scoring unbeaten 87 off 160 balls with the help of 14 boundaries.
The biggest success for Sarwate was to claim Pujara’s wicket.
