The Nagpur City and District Congress Committee
has extended invitation to party president Rahul Gandhi and newly
appointed general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for attending a
booth level workers convention in city later this month on one hand
and on the other a party spokesman and general secretary Sandesh
Singalkar has urged party to field Priyanka from Nagpur Lok Sabha
Constituency.
Singalkar today wrote a letter to Rahul Gandhi stating that the
results of five states have shown the electorate was rejecting the
ruling BJP and prospects of Congress were brighten. The city Congress
was indulging in infighting which proved very costly for party in year
2014 General Elections.
Therefore though Priyanka Gandhi has been made incharge of Uttar
Pradesh but it would be appropriate for the Congress to revive the
prospects in the region which was once citadel of Congress. Priyanka
Gandhi should be given ticket to contest Nagpur Lok Sabha seat.
Union Minister for Transport, Shipping and Ganga Rejuvenation,
Nitin Gadkari is representing Nagpur as he defeated seven time MP
Vilas Muttemwar.

met party leaders Opposition Leader in Lok Sabha, Malikarjun Kharge,
general secretary Mukul Wasnik, former MP Nana Patole and Rajya Sabha
MP Hussain Dalwai while inviting both Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi
Vadra for
addressing booth level workers here in city in third or fourth week of
this month.
