MIDC Industries Association (MIA) celebrated its 34th Foundation Day recently at MIA House, Hingna. Lt Gen Ravi Thodge (Retd) was the chief guest while Jagdish Sangitrao Regional Officer, MIDC was the guest of honour.
The function was organised under the guidance of Capt C M Randhir, President, MIA and C G Shegoankar, Secretary.
MIA felicitated eminent industrialists of the region – Vijayshri Khanorkar, founder of Vaipani Herbals, Hemant Bhave, founder of Bhagyashree Home Appliance (P) Ltd and Mr Jamdar , partner of Kinetic Gears by honouring them ‘Entrepreneurial Excellence Award’ for their notable contribution on the occasion.
Lt Gen Thodge said industries in other tier 2 cities such as Nashik, Aurangabad etc., have performed well as compared to Vidarbha. While encouraging the industrialists, he said that entrepreneurs should have passion and fire in the heart to succeed.
Sangitrao assured all support to local industrialists from MIDC in getting lands and required sanctions.
At the outset, Capt C M Randhir highlighted several issues being faced by the industrialists in the last three years like demonetisation, implementation of Goods and Service Tax (GST), power factor incentive withdrawal, hike in power tariff for industries etc.
MIA secretary Shegaonkar highlighted the role of industrialists’ body in development of region and industries.
He also listed various other initiatives undertaken by the MIA. The Association has formed Industry Institute Interaction Cell (III Cell) which is working closely with local engineering colleges for training students.
All the past presidents were also felicitated on the occasion. Sachin Jain conducted the proceedings while Arun Lanjewar proposed a vote of thanks.
