An interaction and guidance camp for acquiring disability certificate was organized for Thalassemia and Sickle Cell patients by Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Centre, Nagpur.
The programme commenced with the lighting of traditional lamp. The programme was presided over by the Director of Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Centre Dr. Vinky Rughwani, coordinator of Disabled Rehabilitation Centre Dr. Abhijeet Raut and Member of Gondia Thalassemics Parivaar Shri. Anshiram Adwani graced the dais on the occasion.
President Dr. Vinky Rughwani revealed that a rights bill to bring the Thalassemia and Sickle Cell patients under the Disabled Category was introduced in 2016 and in 2017, when Indian government issued a notification in this regard. Later on a memorandum was handed over to the Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis which resulted in the issuance of notification in Maharashtra State in 2018.
Programme Coordinator, Dr. Abhijit Raut explained the online process for Certificate Guidance Camp to the patients and their guardians. He informed that the disability certificate will be issued by the government to the urban patients from Government Medical College and to the rural patients from Indira Gandhi Medical College.
Dr Usha, Dr Asha, Sandeep, Vicky, Rahul and other worked hard for the success of the programme. Dr  Jaiprakash compeered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
