‘Ashadeep’ Apanga,Mahila-Bal Vikas Sanstha  organised half day workshop on “Health and adolescent counselling for students†at Kalyan Mook Badhir Vidyalaya, Tulashibag road, Mahal on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 from 3.00 to 5.00 pm.
Dr Pratima Shastri explained the importance of proper diet for growth during adolescence, and the danger of regular consumption of junk food, with the help of interesting presentation and video. Dr Nutan Deo discussed the role of personal hygiene and cleanliness to all the students.
After this combined session for all students including about 40 boys and 12 girls belonging to the age group more than 10 years, a special session for girls was conducted by Dr Nivedita Kulkarni and Dr Nutan Deo. The focus was on the physical and psychological changes in the girls during adolescence; with the help of diagrams and video. Subtle issues like  social behavior and self protection measures were addressed through interaction with students through interpretation by the teachers.
Earlier, Malu Kshirsagar, Principal, welcomed the experts. Shailaja Subhedar (President) presented the new projects in the pipeline, and Dr Vibhavari Dani (vice president) showed around the special classrooms, and the craft section that displayed the hidden talent of the students.
All staff members including Alit Nadarkhane and Ankita Deshpande extended full support to the event.
