Jaripatka police on Friday booked three persons including a prominent computer businessman for molesting a woman. Getting hint of the police action, three are reportedly absconding. Those booked include Ballu Kevalramani (53), a resident of Krishna Apartment, Kadbi Chowk, Rushi Khosla (48), Byramji Town and Munna Dhole (50), a resident of Raj Nagar, the police said.
According to police, Bablu Kewalramani is the main accused in the case, who owns Silver System computer shop in Dhantoli. Kewalramani is friend of the complainant (48) since a long time, the police said, adding she had visited Kewalramani’s house at 10 pm on February 13, where a quarrel erupted between them.
Kewalramani then reportedly asked her to accompany him in the car for talks. While the complainant was talking to him sitting in the car in front of Krishna Apartment when Kewalramani again picked up quarrel with her, the police said. He then called Rushi Khosla and Munna Dhole there. With the help of the two, Kewalramani abused the complainant. According to the complainant, the trio then molested her.
She somehow managed to escape from the spot and reach her home. On Thursday, she lodged a complaint with Jariptka police station. Seeing this, prominent citizens of the locality allegedly pressurised the woman and further tried to lure the police. The woman is also highly educated and belongs to a respectable family.
On her refusal to withdraw the complaint, Jariptka police lodged an offence against the trio of molestation, assault, and threatening the woman.
