Four people were killed while 46 others were injured when the bus, they were travelling in fell into a nullah. The incident occurred at around 3.30 am on Sunday.
According to reports, the bus was on its way to Nagpur from Prayagraj carrying Kumbh pilgrims. On the wee hours of Sunday, when the bus reached near Jabalpur fell into Karonda nullah killing 4 passengers injuring 46 others. All the passengers were in deep sleep when the mishap occurred. A number of passengers have sustained head injuries, sources said.
Sources, said most of the victims belonged to Nagpur, who had gone to Prayagraj for the Mahakumbh and were returning home.
On getting information, a police team rushed to the spot and called the ambulance. The injured were removed to nearby hospitals. The bus was fished out of the nullah with the help of a crane.
Till filing of this report, the police and the administration was busy in ascertaining the identity of the victims and the injured besides finding out the cause of the accident.
