Seminar on ‘Upcoming trends in inventory management’ held
Inventory management plays an important role in an organisation’s development. Looking at the present and future needs, effective inventory planning should be done to achieve the targets, said Chairman and Managing Director; South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL); A P Panda.
He was delivering the presidential address at a one-day seminar ‘Upcoming trends in inventory management’ organised by Bilaspur Chapter of Indian Inventory Management Institute at Hotel Courtyard Marriott.
Mr. Panda said rising economy and rising consumer expectations have enhanced the quality and speed of the product distribution. This largely depends on the material required for the manufacturing of a product. Those working in the field of inventory management must have knowledge of upcoming rules and regulations, he said, adding the seminar will certainly prove helpful in this direction.
Brainstorming on a number of important topics related to inventory management including cognitive computing, automatic processes, different schemes were held at the seminar.
Similarly, serious thought was given to different suggestions put forward by representatives of various organizations in order to address the problems arising during the work. The seminar also discussed other issues like procurement calendars, transparent guidelines and promotion of small and medium industries.
National President; IIMM G K Singh, Director Technical (Operations); Kuldip Prasad, Director Technical (Planning/Projects); R K Nigam, Director (Finance); S M Choudhary and Chief Vigilance Officer; B P Sharma were prominently present on the occasion.
General Manager (Inventory Management); V P Singh delivered the welcome speech after which rich tributes were paid to the martyrs of Pulwama. Employees and officials of SECL, NTPC, Railways and other private organistions and office-bearers of IIMM were present in large numbers in the seminar
