The first match between Phoenix and Greenhouse FC was a one sided affair with Phoenix scoring 4 goals and keeping a clean sheet. Bijlee Spartans won against Dynamos is a tightly contested second match of the day thanks to a brace by Charuksh. Bijlee Spartans dominated the first half with Charuksh scoring a brace and giving them the lead. Both goals were assisted by Sudanshu.
Clinical finishing was the difference as Lighthouse Rangers win against Rohit Titans in the third match of the day.  Amitasha United FC unfortunate to draw against Nujster Slum Soccer. Both the teams played out an exciting draw which was a visual treat for all the spectators.  Galaxy FC won by walkover since the Divyansh Steel Slum Soccer team is participating in the National Inclusion Cup tournament in Mumbai and were unable to attend the match.
The level of football being played has been steadily improving with each passing week and it is incredible to see the footballers practicing the entire week to perform every coming Sunday. Players are also staying back after their matches to watch the other teams play and prepare their strategy accordingly. As we approach the end of the middle of the league, teams are starting to really look at the points table and see where they stand and how they can finish in a better position. In the last 4 weeks we have played 20 matches which have resulted in 51 goals. Bijlee Spartans is currently on top of the league table with 12 points (4 wins from 4 matches).
Match 1: Hardeo Phoenix FC vs Pablo Greenhouse FC
The first match between Phoenix and Greenhouse FC was a one sided affair with Phoenix scoring 4 goals and keeping a clean sheet. Greenhouse FC made some key changes in the second half but were unable to mount a comeback. Varun opened the scoring with a well-placed penalty, which was followed by another beautiful finish from the box by Shreyash. Kapil scored with a powerful header in the second half and Gaurav scored the fourth goal in injury time.
Phoenix, runners up of last year’s NSL league, had not been performing well but it was nice to see them put on a strong performance here even though they did not have a full squad. Greenhouse FC have not been able to still decide on their starting line up and were also affected by some of their players being casual and arriving late.

Match 2: Simmba’s Dynamos  vs Bijlee Spartans
Bijlee Spartans won against Dynamos is a tightly contested second match of the day. Bijlee Spartans dominated the first half with Charuksh scoring a brace and giving them the lead. Both goals were assisted by Sudanshu. Dynamos started attacking and were unlucky not to score as they missed an open goal and also hit the crossbar from a long range shot that had beaten the goalkeeper. Vasu, from Dynamos scored from a penalty to reduce the deficit to one goal. With both teams playing aggressive there were some rough challenges, which saw Atif and Ritu from Dynamos receiving yellow cards while Zeeshan Khan from Bijlee Spartans was shown a straight red for a rough challenge and follow on misbehaviour.  Both teams received stern warnings from the organisers about their conduct during the game. With this win Bijlee Spartans is on top of the leaderboard while Simmba’s Dynamos is in the bottom half with only 1 point from 4 matches.

Match 3: Lighthouse Rangers vs Rohit Titans
Clinical finishing was the difference as Lighthouse Rangers win against Rohit Titans in the third match of the day. Rangers played attractive, attacking football and Aditya opened the scoring beating the keeper from close range and Gaurav Bhoyer grabbed a brace. Titans played their hearts out and created chances but were unable to score as Rangers were strong defensively and implemented man marking. Lighthouse Rangers are in the top half of the table and Rohit Titans are in the middle of the table and will have to make some strategic changes if they are to contend for the title

Match 4 Amitasha United FC vs Nujster Slum Soccer B
Amitasha United FC unfortunate to draw against Nujster Slum Soccer . Both teams played out an exciting draw which was a visual treat for all spectators. Amitasha United, considered underdogs since they’ve not won any matches so far, surprised Slum Soccer with their attacking intent and slick one-touch passing. Slum Soccer opened the scoring against the run of play when Amitasha United’s defender, Ritik, made a huge mistake with the goal kick and passed the ball to Slum Soccer’s Rashid who scored into an empty goal. Amitasha United missed a few chances to score, especially when their captain and forward, Anuj Singh, was one on one with the keeper and he failed to even hit the target. Mansha finally scored for Amitasha United with an amazing free kick that dipped into the net, giving the keeper no chance. This is the best match of the day and the result could have gone either way.
