A motivational talk and financial sponsorship scheme, Hope was organised by Hislop College Alumni Association. Dr Manali Kshirsagar, Principal Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering and Research, Hingna was the chief guest. Dr R J Andrew, Vice-Principal, Hislop College, Vijay Naidu, President, Dinesh Chhabra, Vice-President, Dr Jayant Ranade, Treasurer, Dr Mousumi Bhowal, Alumni Convener, Dr Prantik Banerjee, Alumni Co-convener and NAAC Coordinator, Shilpa Jaitha, Dr Abhilasha Raut, Vikas Pincha were prominently present from HISCAAN. Jatin Sampat and Vikram Naidu with their team from Rotary Club of Nagpur Vision along with Geeta Rao from Rotary Club of Nagpur also graced the function.
At the outset everybody present observed two minutes silence to pay tributes to the martyrs of Pulwama.
Dr Andrew, in his inaugural address thanked HISCAAN, Rotary Club of Nagpur and Rotary Club of Nagpur Vision for extending financial help and also congratulated the students for getting the sponsorship from HISCAAN.
Vijay Naidu elaborated about the programme and highlighted the year long activities of HISCAAN. He thanked all the donors especially Shyam Dewani who donated generously for the cause.
Cheques to five girl students were distributed by Rotary Club of Nagpur Vision led by Jatin Sampat and his team.
Diksha Vinchurkar, Harshana Thakur and Ashotosh Jungade narrated their experience about Hope sponsorship and how it helped them realise their dreams.
Dr Pratik Michael briefed about the procedure followed by the panel of teachers in screening of students for the sponsorship.
Geeta Rao congratulated all the students who availed the sponsorship.
Dr Manali Kshirsagar spoke about gratitude and attitude which are two major aspects of the characters of an individual. She wanted the students to realise when to stop accepting help and make room for those who were needier.
The programme concluded with distribution of sponsorship cheques to ninety students from Arts, Science and Commerce streams. Dr. Razeka Khan conducted the programme while Dr Jayant Ranade proposed the vote of thanks.
