Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister of Road and Surface Transport Nitin Gadkari performed bhoomipujan of various irrigation and road projects at Tiroda in Gondia district on Saturday. Minister Rajkumar Badole was prominently present at the function.
These Irrigation projects include: Dhapewada lift irrigation phase 2 Bodalkasa pipeline and pump house worth Rs 275 crore, which will irrigate 27,800 hectare of land and Dhapewada lift irrigation phase 1 inauguration (Jalpujan of Khalbada water) to benefit 10,700 hectares of land.
Road projects:
Bampewada (Ekodi)-Wadegaon-Toroda to Khairlanji worh Rs118 crore and Tiroda-Ramtek-Mansar road worth Rs 415 crore,
Other projects:Â Tiroda water supply scheme renovation, Rs 27 crore and Tiroda Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayat roads Rs 26 crore)
Speaking on the occasion, Fadnavis said the government is consistently working for creating more and more irrigation projects and road connectivity in the regions of Vidarbha and Marathwada. Around 50,000 km road works are in progress under National, State highways and GramSadak Yojana, he informed.
We are giving Rs 100 crore for Dhapewada scheme and another Rs 100 crore will be given soon. After the 3rd phase of Dhapewada, farmers will be benefited with 91,000 hectare of irrigation facility. Due to speedy efforts, Gosikhurd irrigation capacity is now of 50,000 hectare and we are trying hard to complete the project soon, he said.
He also spoke on AyushmanBharat , PMAY ,#Mudra loans, highest purchase of agri products by the government worth Rs 8500 crore, loan waiver to 51 lakh farmers, direct benefit of around Rs 50,000 crore to farmers during the last four years among other initiatives launched by the State government.
Around 35 lakh families are getting benefited with these initiatives, he added.
