City’s Irshad Ahmed finished runners-up in the men’s singles event in the the 47th Senior National & Inter State Carrom Championship that concluded at Kudal in Sindhudurg district on Saturday.
In the final, Irshad, a member of local Rai Sporting Club, lost to Prashant More of RBI 21-22, 13-25. Earlier in the semi, final Irshad defeated Rajesh Gohil of Maharashtra 9-25, 23-17, 25-17. In the quarterfinal, he recorded 12-25, 25-9, 24-15 victory over K Srinivas of PSPB.
