City’s senior swimmers Ravindra Tarare and Dr Suresh Batte bagged ironman title in International Triathlon competition held at Gadhinagar in Gujarat recently.
The ironman event includes 21 km running, 1.900 km swimming and 90 km cycling. Tarare completed the swimming 50 minutes, cycling in 3.29 hours and 21 km running in 2.09 hours and achieved eighth place with a total timing 6.42 hours.
Similarly Batte completed swimming in 49 minutes, cycling in 3.30 hours and running in 2.41 minute to secure tenth place with a total timing 7.13 minutes. Both are the members of local Tiger Group of Adventures and regularly practice as Kamgar Kalyan swimming pool.
Labour Commissioner Satish Dabhade, Manager Arun Kapse, Prasanna Hardas of Krida Bharti, Sanjay Batwe, Atul Tapase, Prasad Deshpande, Sandeep Vaidya, Omkar Mahakalkar, Pappu Thakur and others have congratulated them and wished them best luck.
