The Raman Centre of Innovation has been fostering innovative thinking and skill development since the February 14, 2017. “Walk in with just an idea and walk out with a product or a process worth patenting and commercializing†is our motto, says N. Ramdas Iyer, Head of Raman Science Centre. Several innovations developed at the Centre have been recognized and appreciated by organizations and in events held in India and abroad.
In the recently held Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar National Association of Engineers’ TECHNOFEAST 2019, a low cost compact portable self contained device to cool water by upto 12 degrees Celsius, developed by Raunak Suryawanshi, at the Raman Centre of innovation was highly appreciated and was awarded the First prize, which consisted of a cash prize or Rs. 10,000, a certificate and a trophy. “I plan to use the cash prize for further improving the efficiency of the device and patenting itâ€, says Suryawanshi.
