Local singer Suraj Sharma made an attempt to enter the Guinness Book of World Records by singing for longest time. He sang for non-stop 128 hours, which his friends and well-wishers claim is a world record. One of his friends talking to TLN said, “Nobody has sung continuously for these long hours. Suraj has of course created a record. However, it is a matter of paper formality now, which will certify him.â€
His venture was aimed at not only making the world record and hog the limelight, but also to mark the 128th birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and further create awareness about organ donation among the citizens.
Suraj began singing on February 23 at 7.46 pm at Inox Jaswant, Kamptee Road. After singing for 127 hours, his pulse went low. The doctors present at the venue when examined him, found the blood pressure had gone low. He however, continued singing for another hour. When he lost the strength to sing, his friends, held him up in hands along with the microphone. Presenting the patrotic song ‘Kar Chale Hum Fida jano Tan Sathiyo…’ suraj stopped and was then admitted to Venus Hospital Kamptee Road.He will certainly stake claim for the Guinness World Record and other records for which the process is little lengthy.
