With a view to provide better facilities at the doorstep of the citizens, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has launched a mobile tax collection van. In addition, the NMC has joined hands with HDFC bank wherein people can pay their property tax online.
The mobile van will move in all the ten zones of the city through which people can pay property tax in cash or through debit or credit cards. People should take maximum benefit of this service, appealed Mayor Ms Nanda Jichkar.
She was speaking at the inauguration of the services at the main office of NMC in Civil Lines. Deputy Municipal Commissioner; Nitin Kapadnis, Civil and Project Committee chief; Sanjay Bangale, Water Supply Committee Chairman; Pintu Zalke, Assistant Commissioner (Tax and Tax Assessment); Milind Meshram, ITO Incharge Swapnil Lokhande, Circle Head HDFC Bank; Vivek Handa, Clusture Head; Gagandeep Budhraja, Manager; HDFC Sadar branch; Vikram Chouhan and Assistant Manager; Sameer Gupta graced the occasion.
The mobile van and online payment would make it easy for the people to pay the tax in time, said Jichkar, adding instead of standing in long queues at the NMC offices, people can pay the same from their smart phones or computers. She expressed confidence that this would certainly increase the tax revenue of the civic body. Â She also flagged of the tax collection van.
Earlier, Vikram Chouhan gave detailed information of the online payment system to Mayor Jichkar.
A large number of NMC employees and officials were present on the occasion.
