Shubham Lakudkar emerged the champion in Nagpur District FIDE Rating Chess Tournament that concluded at Kamgar Kalyan Mandal here on Saturday.
Top seed Lakudkar won all the nine rounds and earned highest nine points to win the title. Saurabh Lokhande finished runners-up with 7.5 points. Mayur Shelke, Sumedh Ramteke and Prerek Darvekar secured third to fifth place respectively.
On top board in the ninth round, Lakudkar defeated Sumedh Ramteke and continued his winning streak. On second board, Saurabh Lokhande got the better of Aditya Bodkhe whereas Prerak Darvekar and Mayur Shelke settled to a draw.
MLA Sudhakar Kohle, Kailash Chute of Maharashtra Kamgar Kalyan Mandal, NDCA secretary K.K Barat, tournamet organising secetary Sushant Jumde, Arun Kapse, FA Deepak Chavan and others were present at the dais.
