In a nail biting finish, India defeated Australia by 8 runs in the second ODI at VCA Jamtha Stadium today.
While chasing a modest target of 251, the match became exciting in the last over. The visitors needed eleven runs from six balls with Mark Stoinis at the crease, bowling the last over Vijay Shankar did not disappoint the skipper and took two wickets and fashioned a thrilling victory.
Earlier Skipper Virat Kohli’s fabulous century and his 81-run partnership for fourth wicket with young Vijay Shankar helped India to score 250. It was Kohli’s single-handed effort on slow surface that India managed to score some respectable score.
With this win India has also maintained their hundred per cent success record against the Aussies on this venue.
