The most awaited cultural fest of IIIT Nagpur, Abhivyakti, was conducted on February 23rd and 24th in the college premises of the national institute. The prevent Samarth held on 16th February was a unique platform for specially abled students to showcase their talents and performances. The chief guest of Samarth was Ashok Munne. The opening ceremony, conducted on February 22nd and the theme was traditional. The chief guest of ceremony was Pankaj Dhakte who in his speech gave the importance of organizing cultural event with a perfect coordination of academics. He emphasized on the importance of soft skills and life skills with his experienced words.
The event witnessed a huge participation with over forty percent from other colleges. The main event started off with full swing with the debate contest- The Big Roar, in which participants had to state their views for or against “India should declare war against Pakistanâ€. It was followed by the singing competition- Antara which included melodious tunes sang by the students of IIIT and other colleges. The quiz contest, Prashnabaan and the dance competition, ‘To The Beat’, were conducted simultaneously. The students grooved to the moves of the participants. Kavyanjali, the poetry contest was conducted which had heart touching performances.
The Tabla Guy- Nikhil Paralikar mesmerized the entire audience and won their hearts by packing an energetic, heart-pounding performance in the evening, which marked the end of Day 1. Tabla guy has been playing table since five years and has given mesmerizing performances in many cities across the globe.
Day 2 started off with Talk Master- the oratory competition, in which the participants were encouraged to express their opinions on their respective topics. The personality contest- Vyaktitva, tested the overall temperament of the students in four rounds- Introduction, Perspective, Ramp Walk and Rapid Fire.
The photos and paintings of the students were exhibited in the art competition- Craftix . The newest addition to the Abhivyakti family was Abhivyakti’s Got Talent. This encouraged the participants to show their respective talents in all the possible genres, varying from stand-up comedy to magic.
The valedictory ceremony included prize distribution and conclusion of the event. The ceremony was preceded by chief guest Director of VNIT, Dr Pramod Padole , guest of honour Ceo of Automation Control , Latesh Agrawal, Director- Dr O. G. Kakde, Dean DR Ashwin Kothari, Faculty in charge – Dr Kirti Dorshetwar and Dr Tapan Kumar Jain.
Dr Padole in his speech appreciated the talents of IIIT Nagpur and team Abhivyakti for a successful event. Participants and winners were from various colleges including VNIT, RCOEM, Hislop, GH Raisoni and many more.
Lastly, the students witnessed a spectacular performance by Rushabh Jain and his band Maktuv who performed many songs and made the audience dance to their tunes. The hype was kept up by the students and the staff of IIIT Nagpur.
