The women’s branch of South Eastern Central Railway Shramik Union (SECRSU) organised a programme to mark International Women’s Day in city on Friday.
Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Shobhana Bandopadhyay was the chief guest at the programme held at the hall of National Railway Mazdoor Union at the DRM office. Noted dietician Meghna Pandit, President; SECRSU; Kavita Dixit, Secretary Kalpana Wankhede, and Sugandha Raha graced the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Ms Bandopadhyay motivated the women to work hard to achieve their goals. Ms Raha appealed to the women to take care of their health in all stages of life.

Ms Pandit advised the women to consume balanced diet regularly that would keep them fit to perform their duties efficiently. She also spoke in detail about diet for women at different stages of life.
Ms Dixit asked the young women to come forward and actively participate in union’s various activities.
Divisional coordinator Sinha welcomed the guests. Ms Wankhede conducted the programme while Anita proposed a vote of thanks. The event concluded with cultural programme by women.
A large number of women were present at the programme.
