Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar instructed all the officials of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) to ensure strict implementation of code of conduct.
Bangar addressed a meeting of all the departmental heads at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj New Administrative Building of NMC on Monday.
Additional Commissioners Ravindra Thakre, Aziz Sheikh, Ram Joshi, Deputy Commissioners Nitin Kapadnis and Rajesh Mohite along with heads of all the departments and assistant commissioners were present at the meeting.
Bangar said that till the time the code of conduct is in force, no new tenders should be issued. The works approved earlier will be carried on along with maintenance work.
Water supply and health fall in essential services. The officials concerned should ensure uninterrupted services of these departments, he instructed.
He further ordered immediate removal of all political banners and hoardings placed at NMC land or on NMC’s advertisement boards.
Review of facilities at polling booths
The Election Commission of India has directed to provide all the facilities at each polling booth like ramp for the disabled, drinking water, toilets, etc. Bangar asked the assistant commissioners of all the zones to visit all the polling booths in their respective areas and submit a report.
