In order to upgrade and modernise 70 million traders of the Country and empower them with computer technology and ensuring their presence on e commerce portals, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) today extended an open invitation to all capable e commerce players to partner with CAIT in its bid to educate, aware and empower the trading community across the Country with digital technology.
CAIT National President B. C. Bhartia and Secretary General, Praveen Khandelwal said that e commerce is a promising and growing business of the future and the trading community cannot remain aloof of this important change. There is a considerable change in consumer behaviour and largely customers ranging from age group of 18 years to 40 years mostly prefer to do online shopping. Realising this as an important aspect, the CAIT has decided to bring small traders across the Country on digital platform and making them enable to use digital technology in their existing business and payments.
The Indian internal trade is having a very vast landscape and therefore it is thought proper to seek alliance with existing e commerce players to join hands with CAIT to bring small traders all over the Country on e commerce platform.
Since last five years, the CAIT in association with MasterCard has already launched a national campaign for access and adoption of digital payments among trading community and so far enable to convert more than 5 lakh traders all over the Country to receive payments through digital mode.
Both Mr. Bhartia and Mr. Khandelwal said that before entering into an alliance with any e commerce player, the CAIT will ensure that the alliance do not harm the interests of small traders and is in compliant of the basic fundamentals of e commerce guidelines.
